The Pass Plus course

The Pass Plus course has been designed by the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) along with the help and input of various insurers and the driving industry.  Hampshire County Council Road safety team are able to subsidise £75 towards the cost of a Pass Plus driver training course.  The course has been designed to build upon your existing core of driving skills and knowledge, teaching and coaching you on how to better anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards.  The Pass Plus course can also help you to become a safer and more confident driver on the roads.

The Pass Plus course is made up of six modules, which area as follows:

  • Driving in town
  • Driving in all weathers
  • Driving on rural roads
  • Driving at night
  • Driving on dual carriageways
  • Driving on motorways

The course requires that you complete each and every module successfully; however no test is taken as you are continually assessed throughout the Pass Plus course.  Upon completion of the Pass Plus course, many insurers offer a discount to the driver.
